FAQ – PADI Rescue Diver Course Phuket

To enroll in the PADI Rescue Diver Course, you must be at least 12 years old, have a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver certification Phuket (or equivalent from another organization), and have an active sanctioned CPR and First Aid qualification course within the past 24 months.

The PADI Rescue Diver Course typically takes 3 days to complete. This includes knowledge development sessions, rescue exercises in confined water, and open water rescue scenarios.

The course covers self-rescue and diver stress, emergency management and equipment, panicked diver response, in-water rescue breathing protocols, egress (exits), and diving first aid. You’ll practice these skills during rescue scenarios to prepare for real-life emergencies.

Deep and Navigation are the required two dives and Yes, you can choose three other dives that interest you, like wreck diving or night diving. Your instructor will help you pick.The course involves physical activity, including swimming and lifting. While it is challenging, it is designed to be manageable with average fitness levels. Participants should be comfortable in the water and prepared for some exertion.

Yes, you can upgrade your training by adding the Emergency First Response (EFR is required to start the course*) and Oxygen Provider course (although not required for Rescue Certification) is required in some countries for Professional divers. These additional certifications will enhance your skills in emergency care and significantly complement your Rescue Diver training.

Are you fit to dive? Please take a look at this PADI MEDICAL FORM and check you can answer ‘NO’ to all the medical questions.  If you say ‘YES’ to any of these, it may mean you have to see a doctor to sign you off fit to dive before diving.  If you read it and answer ‘No’ to all, then you are good to start scuba diving.
Flying After Scuba Diving: For safety you must plan to leave a minimum of 18 hrs after scuba diving before going to altitude.
